Since complex systems integrate analog/digital hardware and software component, their modeling and validation have become a challenge. This talk, divided in two parts, focuses on unified simulation of complex heterogeneous systems using SystemC and its analog extensions. First part introduces an implementation of the SystemC AMS standard allowing heterogeneous hardware modeling. This implementation includes (1) a synchronization interface ensuring discrete-event and discrete-time model interactions and (2) an API to add new models of computation. Second part discusses refinement of software models at different abstraction levels and the way in which interactions between software and heterogeneous hardware are handled.
