Abstract
This talk presents ElemRV, a lightweight and adaptable open-source RISC-V microcontroller. It begins with an overview of the architecture and the core design choices behind the project. The session then explores how SpinalHDL - a high-level hardware description language built on Scala - streamlines hardware development, enhances design quality, and enables the generation of necessary metadata.
A new workflow based on Taskfile is introduced, demonstrating how it simplifies the use of containers and improves the accessibility and reproducibility of the development environment.
The presentation concludes with a brief outlook on what’s next for the ElemRV project.
