Lorem Ipsum[1] is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.[2]

Abstract

A significant proportion of the know-how in the microelectronic value chain lies in the design of microchips and the software tools used for this purpose. In order to strengthen Germany's innovation and competitiveness and to gain technological sovereignty, design capabilities are to be expanded at the national level. To this end, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Germany (BMBF) launched the Microelectronics Design Initiative in September 2022. Based on the funding program "DE:Sign" as an integral part of the Microelectronics Design Initiative, the BMBF is funding projects to research new design tools and methods as well as innovative chip designs with a focus on open source processes for new microelectronics.
